GOT A STORY?
If you have a story, relating to UK
Short Oval racing, which you feel needs to be heard. Please do contact me.
In particular I am interested in news which could conceivably find its way
into Motorsport News, Short Circuit or the Spedeweek programme.
It may be a change of formula, a new car you are particularly proud of, a
hard luck story or anything the Short Oval fan would find of interest. Send me
an email and let me know about it and I will endeavor to follow it up.

Matthew Bull also provides written features and articles for a number of
magazines and newspapers. Primarily at the moment this includes the
national weekly newspaper, Motorsport News, Short Circuit Magazine as
well as being the assistant editor for the Spedeworth programme,
Spedeweek.
Oval racing, with its rich diversity, also lends itself to
interesting features in more specialist publications. Articles on
Coach/Bus racing, caravan racing and Mini Stox have appeared in various
such publications over the years.
This sport attracts more competitors and far more spectators than any
other form of Motor Sport in the UK, yet in the press, it remains one of
our greatest secrets. Crowds of over 10,000 attend the sports major
events, of which there are several, and there are tracks countrywide
which regularly pull in a large local audience.
Full contact Banger racing undoubtably pulls in the majority of these
spectators, but the expensive, high powered non contact Hot Rods and the
brutal contact Stock Car categories also have their avid followers and
still attract crowds in their thousands. |
