THIS SITE TELLS YOU A LITTLE BIT
ABOUT OVAL RACING PHOTOGRAPHER, MATTHEW BULL.
In 2007, Matthew set up the first
oval racing
photo agency
www.racepixels.co.uk
All Matt's photos from 2007 onwards, plus those
of other oval racing photographers, can be found on RacePixels. This
site remains open indefinitely as it still contains all the historic
galleries from 2005-2007. (Some of which are unavailable temporarily -
as we are updating servers at present)
Matthew Bull began taking photographs of oval racing, in an
official capacity, back in 1993, when he took over the role at the
Incarace tracks of Hednesford, Birmingham Wheels and latterly,
Northampton International Raceway.
For much of the nineties a move to the south of the country made
the regular commute to Hednesford and Birmingham quite a task and
eventually fuel costs and other considerations saw him take over the
vacant track photographer role at Arena Essex in 2002, along with the
same position at RDC's Mildenhall stadium in Suffolk.
RDC's sister venue at Dover Raceway in Kent was also taken on,
although with the clashing Arena Essex dates, Steve Lever was given
the task of actually taking the photos. Matt remains responsible for
the digital processing of the images and subsequent printing and
sales.
Having been the assistant editor
of the Spedeworth programmes for a number of years, Matthew was happy
to take on the official photographer role at Arlington Stadium,
Eastbourne, in 2008. The regular Wednesday night dates throughout the
summer allowing Matt to keep his other commitments with Arena Essex
and RDC.
With regular visits, whenever time
allows, to other tracks in the Spedeworth, Incarace and Trackstar
rosters, as well as the independant set up at Standlake, Matthew is
very busy all year round, and particularly during the summer season.
But being first and foremost a Motor Sport fan, he would not want it
any other way.
